An interesting one hour tour capturing both history and traditions of Hondarribia.
After leaving Arma plaza (a square) you will walk to San Nicolás gate and you will see the 16th century bastion and wall. Next, you will visit the Parish Church of Santa María de la Asunción y del Manzano built in the 15th and 16th centuries on the remains of the town's original fortified walls. The proxy marriage of Mary Thérèse of Austria and Louis XIV of France took place there in 1660. The tour will finish in Charles V's castle (today a Parador hotel) where you will enjoy the beautiful view of the Txingudi bay and Basque French coast.
